Frequently asked questions
The questions brand owners ask before the first order, answered directly. If something is not covered here, ask us — we would rather answer an awkward question now than explain a delay later.
Minimum order & pricing
1,000 pieces per SKU for stock formulas in stock packaging. Fully custom formulas in custom packaging start at 3,000 pieces. We publish the exact MOQ for your configuration in the quote and it does not move afterwards.
Yes for private label: 1,000 pieces per SKU, with a 3,000-piece total order across the range. For custom development we assess case by case, because each formula carries its own trial batch and stability work.
Four things: the actives and their concentration, the packaging component and decoration, the order volume, and the depth of testing and documentation. We show all four separately so you can trade one against another — usually packaging is the fastest place to save.
30% deposit with the order, 70% balance before shipment. For repeat clients with a track record we review terms annually. Sample fees are credited against your first production order.
We quote EXW, FOB, CIF or DDP — your choice, and we show them side by side so you can compare against your own forwarder. Most first-time clients take FOB and use their existing freight partner.
Formula & sampling
You do. Custom-developed formulas are exclusively licensed to your brand and we do not resell them. Stock formulas are non-exclusive, which is why they cost less and sample faster. Everything is covered by an NDA signed before we disclose any formula detail.
Standard stock formulas are sampled free; you cover the courier. Custom development carries a sample fee covering materials and lab time, and it is fully credited against your first production order.
Two free rounds on custom development, covering texture, absorption, scent and active level. Further rounds are quoted at cost before we start them — you will never receive an unexpected revision invoice.
Often, yes. Send the INCI list and, ideally, a sample. We can usually get close on sensory profile and performance. Note that we will not replicate a formula that infringes a patent or a competitor’s protected ingredient system, and we will tell you if that’s the case.
Yes, and we prefer to sign before you send us anything confidential. We can use your NDA or send ours — a mutual one, so your brief and our process are both protected.
Production & lead times
48 hours for a costed proposal, 7–10 days for lab samples, 7–14 days for your evaluation and testing, then 25–30 days for production. Realistic door-to-door for a first order is 6–9 weeks including shipping.
Custom packaging tooling and client-side approval time are the two usual causes. We flag both up front, send weekly production photos, and tell you the same week if a date moves — never at the end.
Sometimes. Stock formulas with stock packaging can ship in 15–20 days if the line schedule allows. We will only commit to a rush date we can actually hold, and we will tell you the cost of the expedite before you decide.
For repeat clients on a forecast, yes — we can hold up to three months of finished stock or components. Component stockholding is often the smarter move, because it cuts the next reorder to around 15 days.
Quality & compliance
Yes. COA, MSDS and PIF are standard. We support your CPSR dossier with data for the safety assessor, coordinate the responsible person for the EU or UK, and hold MoCRA facility registration with US agent coordination for the United States.
No, and be cautious of any Chinese factory that claims to be. The EU and UK responsible person must be established in that jurisdiction. We work with yours, or introduce one we have worked with before.
We screen every active against your destination markets before sampling, and we tell you at proposal stage — not after you have paid for development. If an ingredient is restricted, we propose a compliant alternative that keeps the claim intact.
No. We do not conduct animal testing and we do not commission it. Vegan and cruelty-free statements are supported by supplier declarations, which we supply with your documentation pack.
It is quarantined and investigated, with a written report. If the failure is ours, we remake at our cost. That is the whole point of having gates — you should never receive a product that passed by negotiation.
Packaging
Yes. Ship the components to us and we will run compatibility and filling trials before production. If a component fails, we tell you what failed and why, and propose an alternative.
Usually from about 10,000 pieces, depending on the component. Below that, tooling cost per unit outweighs the brand benefit. We’ll price stock-with-decoration against custom tooling so you can see the crossover point.
We check your artwork against the labeling rules for your target market — mandatory statements, font sizes, ingredient listing order and symbol placement. If you need design work, we can introduce designers we work with regularly.
Working together
Yes — on site or by live video, scheduled in GMT+8 business hours. We routinely host ISO 22716, GMPC and retailer-specific third-party audits, and share our most recent audit report under NDA beforehand.
One named project manager per client, reachable by email, WhatsApp and WeChat. Weekly written status updates during production, and photos at every stage. No account-manager handoffs.
No. We are a manufacturer only. We do not compete with you at retail and we do not sell finished goods under a house brand — your product stays yours.
Target market, the claim you want to make, target retail price, estimated volume and any packaging preference. A paragraph is enough to start — we will ask for specifics after the first proposal.
